440.950 Mhz       N6NMZ
Colfax, CA       PL 192.8hz       +5mhz Offset
The N6NMZ repeater is open to all licensed amateur radio operators and is located at 3,500 feet in the Sierra near Gold Run, California. Coverage extends from Stockton in the south to Cottonwood in the north. West to Fairfield and east to Donner Summit. It provides excellent coverage into the North Fork American River Canyon and the Sugar Pine Recreation Area.
The repeater consists of a modified GE MVP mobile, Link Communications RLC-1 controller, Astron RM-35M power supply, and a DB Products 4 cavity band pass/band reject duplexer. There is also a 4" Motorola bandpass cavity before an Angle Linear preamp on the receiver. The antenna is a Hustler G6-400 at 30 feet fed with 1/2" heliax.
The repeater controller supports an in band link radio, a GE MVP which allows connection to the 444.600 repeater in Auburn. The repeater is normally linked. The link radio looks through a 4" Motorola bandpass cavity tuned to 449.600 mhz into a Larsen 6 element yagi. The bandpass cavity keeps transmitter noise out of the repeater receiver and also attenuates the link receiver, keeping it from hearing the Bay Area repeater on the same channel.
