The W6SAR repeater is open to all licensed amateur radio operators and is located at 3,250 feet in the Sierras in Foresthill, California. The repeater has coverage from about Tracy in the south to Orland in the north, west to Fairfield and into the Sierra Nevada range to the summit near Lake Tahoe.The repeater is a modified GE MVP mobile interfaced to a Link Communications RLC-4 controller which allows for linking to the 2-meter repeater. Power is backed up by the site battery/generator system. The repeater feeds about 25 watts into split RFS 6db vertical antennas on the tower.
